New symplectic 4-manifolds with $b_2^+=1$
Abstract
In this talk I'd like to review some symplectic 4-manifolds with $b_2^+=1$ and I present a new family of simply connected symplectic 4-manifolds with $b_2^+=1$ and $c_1^2=2$ which are not diffeomorphic to rational surfaces. I also address some applications regarding this new symplectic 4-manifolds.
