How To Print Plots
There is no direct way to print the image in a Java applet at
present. In all cases you will have to copy the image somewhere and
then use another program to print it out.
- Under Windows: Click on the title bar of the Plot window
to make sure it is the foreground window. By simultaneously pressing
the "Ctrl"-"Alt"-"Print Screen" keys (on some machines "Alt"-"Print Screen")
you copy the current window into the Clipboard. This can now be pasted in
to any program for printing. An easy program to do this from is the Paint
program which can be found in the Accessories Menu under the Program Menu
under the Start (which is in the lower left corner). Load this program and
select Paste from the Edit on the menu bar. This will paste the image
into the buffer. You can then print it by selecting Print under the
File on the menu bar. You may also find it convenient to use MS Word to
paste the Clipboard into a document and then print. The command Paste
Special can now be used, it is also under the Edit.
It is not a bad idea to select Print Preview to
see if the picture fits on one page. If it doesn't you can resize the
Plot window and copy the image again. If the image wraps on to the
second page but you don't care about the part on the second page,
simply print only the first page.
- On Macintosh: By pressing "Open Apple","shift" and "3" simultaneously the entire screen will be copied into a file. This file can then be loaded in to a paint program for printing. The file is usually on the top directory of the hard drive and named something along the lines of "Picture 1".
