Petition against a recent "Executive Order"

Along with many colleagues at Princeton University and other U.S. Universities, I have signed a petition against a recent "Executive Order" which has severely restricted movement across the U.S. border and has in particular further closed the door to refugees fleeing war and oppression. Some of these restrictions would appear to directly affect several current and past members of the Department of Mathematics. The American Mathematical Society has released a statement in opposition to this "Executive Order". Princeton's President Eisgruber has issued his own statement here.

Oberwolfach Seminar

I will be giving an Oberwolfach Seminar titled "Recent Advances on the Global Nonlinear Stability of Einstein Spacetimes", jointly with P. LeFloch and and Q. Wang. The seminar will run from May 15–21, 2016.

Ph.D students and postdocs are encouraged to apply. The deadline is March 13, 2016

Conference in honour of Sergiu Klainerman

Together with Peter ConstantinAlexandru Ionescu and Igor Rodnianski, I am co-organising a conference titled "Analysis, PDE's, and Geometry" in honour of Sergiu Klainerman at Princeton University, January 26–29, 2016. For more information, see this link.

Fields Institute program: 100 Years of General Relativity

Registration is now available for various events connected with a Fields Institute program to take place in Toronto celebrating the centennial of general relativity.

The program will run from May 11, 2015 to June 26, 2015. Click here for more information.

Warwick-Imperial-Cambridge Geometric Analysis Seminar

A one day workshop will take place in Cambridge on March 19, 2014. The speakers are Piotr Chrusciel, Tobias Lamm, Joaquin Perez, and Mu-Tao Wang. For more information, click here.

Junior Warwick-Imperial-Cambridge Geometric analysis Seminar

As part of the Singularities in Geometric Partial Differential Equations project, a junior seminar will take place at the University of Warwick, on December 9–10, 2013. For the schedule, click here.

Vacancies in DPMMS

There are a number of posts advertised in DPMMS, including

  • three University Lectureships in Pure Mathematics (permanent posts lying somewhere between the positions "Assistant Professor" and "Associate Professor" of the US system) and
  • various postdoctoral positions, several of which are specialised to analysis and/or PDE's.

All vacancies are listed here. Note that closing dates for most vacancies are in December

Singularities of geometric partial differential equations website

A website associated with the new EPSRC-funded programme grant titled Singularities of Geometric Partial Differential Equations is now up and running.

Postdoctoral opportunity at Warwick

Together with Peter Topping of the University of Warwick and André Neves of Imperial College London, I am part of a programme grant titled Singularities of Geometric Partial Differential Equations, funded by the EPSRC.

A postdoctoral fellowship, associated with this grant and to be held at the University of Warwick, has recently been advertised, with closing date December 10, 2012. Click on this link.
